I am currently using a Marantz PM8004 with Monitor Audio speakers. I was considering either a new integrated amp or just adding an amp onto my Marantz PM8004's preamp section, which happens to be excellent sounding.I listen to classical music at "normal" levels. So my needs are the usual dynamics and tonal balance, detail and imaging at low to moderate listening levels.
I also use a NAD C326BEE. But I find that to sound "thinner" than the Marantz. And I find the Marantz to be very "full bodied". So what I am looking for is something in between. I think the quality I am looking for is "open and relaxed" with great bass, imaging, detail, etc..
Any recommendation in the $1k NEW range for either an amp match to the Marantz or an integrated amp like a Rotel, Music Fidelity, Anthem, etc...????
