no sorry, I was thinking of the primary output stage of the amplifier made with cascaded and mixed devices. lets just say The Solid state output runs class A to 10 volts and the Tube device take over to 1000 Volts. Both devices connected to the load (or transformer) it would take some interesting bias workings to do it.
