What kinds of transistors are used in amplifiers these days? op amps? discrete transistor amps? ICs? FETs? BJTs? MOSFETs? What is the state of technology these days?

While my Rogue Atlas all-tube power amp is at being upgraded and repaired, I picked up a pair of Marantz MA-500 monoblocs. Not only are they solid state, they are based on op amps. When I get the Rogues back, I'll have to do an A/B comparison.
