Setting those dip switches properly is very, very important. Set it up using your amps'input impedance. If you are using balanced mode, the input impedance is the sum of the positive and negative legs. If the legs have different values, the amp is not balanced and you cannot use it. Find the dip switches that are closest in value to the input impedance (or in balanced mode, the sum of the positive and negative legs) If you don't know the value of the input impedance, call your manufacturer, look in the owner's manual, etc. This setting is very important. You cannot set up the tone controls properly without the proper tools. Go to Vandersteen.com and read the owners manual for your speakers. I suggest you get in a Vandersteen dealer and have him/her set the speakers up for you. It might cost you 150.00 or so, but it will be worth it.
