Thanks for the response. I will replace the main capacitors which are currently 10,000 uF each. Have kind of narrowed it down to these three, and am still thinking on the best choice:
A - 10,000 uF, B41456B9109M, EPCOS, ESR = 0.009 ohms
B - 18,000 uF, E36D750MLN183TC79M, United Chemicon, ESR = 0.022 ohms
C - 30,000 uF, DCMC303U075BC2B, CDE, ESR = 0.015 ohms
Also still struggling with the value of a small film cap in parallel with any of these big guys. A 1 uF cap is not going to significantly change the impedance even at high frequencies.
