Boy, Estat, I sure wish I knew why you are so venemous toward me...
I do speak for myself.... I can hear distortion and other non linear effects. Ind guess what... you don't have to own electrostatics or even spend more that $50 on a loudspeaker that allows you to here them.
My opinion, often expressed here is that often we attribute symptoms of clipping (how many high end audio amplfiers include clipping indicators?) to a percieve attribute either negative "there was a perceived muddiness on Tisdales loudest bass passages..." or positive "The loudspeaker just opened up using the Cary 300."
Clipping is that subtle -
