A cheap tweak recommended by Charles Hansen is to get all of your components, speaker wire, everything....up on some Ayre or Cardas wooden blocks....pretty reasonably priced, and some are made with notches to help the speaker wire stay in place. Even cheaper yet...the game Jenga can be had for 10 bucks-ish..and has a lot of blocks to do your whole system. Cardas speaker cable is known particularly for its midrange warmth...maybe try the Golden Presence...or the new Cardas Clear. Try a Cardas Golden (not reference which has ferrite) powercord for your Ayre amp, it really helped with my Ayre amp. I wish you the best of luck in finding what suits you!
