There is no "best" 12AU7....as` you have now learned. You can get a similar sound to a Bugle Boy with this La Radiotechnique. It was` made with the same internal construction, but in the Philips owned factory in France.
Cheap too.....we sell the top grade for $40 each.....but shop around. I don't need to try to land a $40 sale...just trying to help
