Yeah, I can see your point. But actually, I think the CJ5 is up around $7500, isn't it? What killed me about the 6 is that they are discontinuing it and I could have gotten one for around $3k. For that, it was really a buy! But I figured this as a long-term purchase and wanted to be sure I would be happy with it.
Have you compared the 6 and the 5? I didn't have a chance to and am curious. For that matter, ARC has the REF3, which got a "mind blown" review from Paul Bolin in Stereophile. But that's closer to $10k, I believe.
