I think I tried them in the first positions. Did you try any Siemens e188cc or e88cc tubes. I found them to have a very good bass, and a lot of treble/air detail, but all Seimens gets too lively and detailed, and unreal.

BTW, on my DAC3, I used Holland e188cc (Dario Miniwatt labelled) in the first position, and they are amazing there.

So, it also has a lot to do with finetuning to your systems and your listening biases. All the e188ccs are good tubes, and its good that they sound different, so you have a palate to work with.
