Preamp advice, please

Hi all
I am looking for a preamp for my current setup:
Loudspeakers: Focal Electra 907 Be
Power amp: Belles 150A reference
CD player: Meridian G07
I like tubed preamps because they seem to me more satisfying in the long run, but I am open to SS. My budget is around 2000 $ new or used.
I had AR SP-16L, but it did not worked with my new setup.
I am looking for a preamp with good soundstage and dynamics and well balanced in the frecuency extremes.
I have read rave reviwes about Modwright SW 9.0 SE, and it seems to me a good partner. What do you think?
It will be helpful to know another possible candidates.
