If the caps are still good leaving the amp on will prolong the life somewhat (filter caps like having a charge on them). If they are on the fence OTOH that would be a bad thing to do! So my thinking is your best bet is to run the amp as you have. Chances are good that the amp will make it another year if your use continues to be frequent. If you leave it in the basement for 6 months expect trouble...While the parts in there may be unique, I doubt that you will have trouble finding suitable replacements which in all likelihood will perform better. It is a tendency of the capacitor industry to decrease the size of capacitors over time. So I would not fret too much- just make sure your power fuse is correctly rated :)
