I was told when mine finally died that it could not be repaired. I took it to a couple of techs - but I am not an electronics person either. I figured I got my money's worth as I got a really good deal when I bought it new and had it a long time. I had a friend who owned a stereo store at the time and he had a stereo store party and the Amber rep was there. He wanted to sell one bad to show the rep and knew I'd go for it so I got it at dealer cost.
