I have no worries with the design...

It's a fine phono stage in either SE or balanced but, for me, the preference is balanced in and out. All I had a 'niggle' with was a slightly mis-aligned grounding tab.
It super quiet.. appears far less noisy than the Aleph Ono that I have spent many hours with and the Tom Evans Litho that I previously used.
I think most people downfall is the application of the balancing arrangement of the arm cable. I gutted my SME and had an Incognito loom run unbroken from pin to stage and then all the ground/screens met at the arm base and are earthed to the stage separate. Most people will not really want to, or have the option, to go that far... but its worth the aggro' I think. Far more rewarding in my system.
