Re: Jurassic Maggies

I'm having an equally frustrating time getting someone to help me with the repair of my Magnepan 2167-F (circa 1979/pre-MG-II) speakers. I understand that Steve Winey (son of founder, Jim Winey) is the one who I need to speak with. BTW, the operator claims they don't have e-mail.

My problem is with a loose wire creating a rattle in the right speaker's midrange-bass driver. With some instructions and diagrams, I'm sure I could fix it myself.

Regardless of how great Magnepan's sound, how this gets resolved will be THE deciding point of whether I continue to endorse this manufacturer and any future purchases.

Anyway, thanks to anyone who can help with this (even someone from Magnepan who might be willing to help a customer who purchased their products when they were a virtual unknown).
