You can make a slight improvement by filling the struts with sand, lead shot, or a combination. It makes them even more rigid. Try tapping a knuckle on the hollow strut and then on one filled with sand; the difference is amazing.But just make sure you're satisfied with positioning before you do this as the speakers and stand combination becomes REALLY heavy when the struts are filled.
