Thanks for the replies. I have mine tilted back currently and have never tried them vertical. I replaced the stock feet with a sharpened piece of ready rod (spike) and a lock nut on each of the four feet. They're firmly pushed down into the hardwood floor. It seemed to firm up the bass response.

However, I perceive a bit of a mid-bass hump, which may be a room mode, or it may be the cavernous woody base of these things, but I'm not really sure. I stuffed the base with fibreglass, but I was thinking maybe gluing in some cross braces would lower the resonance down there. Any thoughts from Acoustat tweakers? Thanks again.
