if the economy's poor like you say it is a buyer's market. A better economy would translate into greater demand & inflated prices.However, if you're strapped for cash, I'd opt for horizontal bi-amplification. As such, I'd take the oportunity to seek out something like a feedbackless amp for cleaner transients. However, I see no Mark Levinson version to voice match your present amplifier. This will require more experience than I have.
PS: Another favorite option for mid/treble amps is OTL 300B SETs since these loads are well behaved.
