I agree completely. The external XO upgrade and the Mye stands are the two of the three most critical "upgrades" I have performed, the other being the Kern and Audiocom upgrades to my Sony 777ES. I did a Hoveland/Alpha-Core XO, which was a HUGE improvement; now I have an all-Jensen XO, which is another step up. The Mye stands seemed to lock in the superb sound from the modified 777ES and custom XO(s) -- rock-solid stability, even more detail, everything! I agree the 1.6QR is a super speaker and value out of the box.....with the XO mod with top-quality parts, and the VanderStands, it becomes a great speaker --period!
