Re: My MG12 are rattling!

My left MG1.6 did the same thing about 1 month after purchase. It turned out to be the large inductor used in the crossover. I heard this has happened to others, so I felt through the cloth in the back area where the xover components are mounted, and sure enough 1 inductor was moveable beneath the cloth, and was rattling on every sustained low bass note at high volume levels. I hated to do it, but I waited too long to get the 1.6's to be shipping them back and waiting for repair, so I cut a 3 inch slit in the cloth to gain access to the inductor and used RTV silicon adhesive to firmly reattach the inductor to the wood panel in the same spot it had come loose from. Things have been fine ever since. Check em just in case.
Good Luck,
Bob D.
