...width (80 inches) across the front of the room and that makes walking behind the speakers and equipment rack(1) more dangerous for this clumsy oldfart ('COF'), I fantasized about narrower speakers of 'similar' quality.. After reading many reviews, my first pick was Maneplanar 20.7s.. Fortunately for me, a well-traveled and -experienced audiofool-friend talked me out of that notion yesterday, opining that while the Maggies were excellent values, they're not close to the SLs in resolution, spaciousness, cohesiveness, bass power and quality, etc.He then sort of kicked my butt for all the stuff cluttering my musicroom, reminding me that these things are dangerous to be around for this COF.. He's correct, of course, and I'm taking his advice seriously after, 10 days ago, stumbling while filing a videodisc and falling on my back and right shoulder(2) and banging my head on the base of one of the SoundLabs harder than I've EVER banged my head.. Fortunately, the worst thing that happened is a plastic ring in the joint broke, which will be replaced during out-patient surgery in 10 days.. So I'll be more aggressive at selling surplus equipment.
He also recommended moving my backend equipment closer to the front wall; doing so will substantially increase the walking space around that equipment.

(2) That's an artificial joint.
