RE: Quad Speakers in Less Than Ideal Placement

If you think the intended set-up would be less than ideal, I would definitely recommend you allow for some easy re-arranging of the speakers, listening position and possibly furniture once in awhile to really enjoy them. And then put them back after your session.

I used to do that in the early of almost 40 years of owning ESL-63's. Usually when I had the house to myself.

Otherwise, set-up in a domestic friendly setting is OK, and they sound fine for general listening, home theatre, gatherings and such. But they sound really really good and provide an amazing experience when you lock into the ideal setting. When you're in that zone, you'll know it. And unfortunately, or fortunately, you won't move an inch.
