One of the main changes for the 3.7 vs previous 3.x models is the QR midrange emits more high frequency power with a smoother and higher transition to the ribbon tweet. It can do this better being a light QR foil.
In particular it takes on more of the 2-3 kHz region where human ears & brain are very sensitive, so the midrange is more of a mid-tweet and the ribbon tweeter closer to a supertweeter.
So not surprised that it's the midrange that has the most perceptual influence in the 3.7
