Yes, his post is deficient of details....but you seem to have determined that jumpering the inductor will "fuck with the power rating." :)
From his query, I assumed his intention was to disconnect the "messed up tweeter section" and operate just the woofer. That seems a perfectly reasonable assumption, to me.
But, your mind-reading skills must be superior to mine. :)
