The general rule with planars is the lower the mass, the better they sound. Increasing the mass of a tweeter would roll off the highs. Copper would increase the mass of the voice coils. I can see that aluminum might be more susceptible to resonances and diaphragm dishing because it's more flexible than copper, but I don't know of any actual evidence that it sounds better. I do know that one planar manufacturer uses it -- forget which one -- but when I asked about it, the guy I spoke to couldn't answer.
