How can T-1Ds lose bass?

I took my mic and REW over to a friend's place the other day, to check his FR was acceptable.

He runs T-1Ds, actively driven using a miniDSP 8x8 to provide the 6dB XO and some room correction. He's using a pair of 150w ss stereo amps on the bass panels (one amp channel driving each bass panel) plus an additional stereo amp for the tweeter panels.

He's nearly blind - so I am his "tech specialist" ... I had set up the system a few years ago and, having improved my use of REW on my own system in the meantime, thought I might have another look at his ... to see whether I could improve his FR in any way.

When I did the first sweep, I was surprised to see there was a pronounced droop in the FR from about 600Hz downwards. I was able to correct this using EQ in the miniDSP plug-in ... but I was wondering whether anything could be wrong with the T-1Ds, to have caused this loss of the lower frequencies produced by the bass panels?

Any suggestions, anybody?

All 6 panels of the T-1Ds were re-wired by the Oz importer about 8 years ago - so I doubt that any delam has occurred.

Andy
