RE: Is 50 Watts per channel enough for MG1-IMP?

Depends on your room size. If your amp is 50 watts RMS you are likely OK but getting close to its max output without clipping. Clipping amplifier can damage speakers not just Maggies. As others have said you cannot damage the speakers with a higher wattage amp until you likely exceed ear drum damaging levels 120db or greater.
