Diffusers make such a huge difference, don't they! You can't have too many either (I have 30 :-) ).
The only place a diffuser may not be a good idea is the first reflection points on the walls and ceiling ... maybe, depending on the room.
One more thing to consider: the design of the diffuser determines the frequency range that it affects. Thinner diffusers 3" or less only affect higher frequencies like >1KHZ. To get lower they have to be more like 7".
