Inspired by the recent thread on room treatments, specifically front wall diffusion behind speakers, I found some low cost [$75 for 12 - 20" x 20"] diffuser panels [and somewhat visually appealing - WAF: approved] and installed them last night. The results were simply amazing ++++, this is clearly the most cost effective improvement I have encountered. Wider and deeper sound stage and most importantly a much more uniform FR, speakers totally disappeared. My wife, who doesn't really care one way or the other actually stated "I can't tell where the sound is coming from".
