Can not speak for the 4b, but the 4b3 is a perfect match with the Magnepans. If you do not beleive me, you will find 2 of the profesional evaluators for Fairaudio.de (Germany) use them in their reference test systems (4B3 & 7B3).
If you value transparency, accuracy, equal representation across all frequencies, fine resolution & Dynamics, the ability to hear precise changes upstream and in cables, No roll off in the high end and firm control in the low end you will like Bryston.
If you have weakness in your front end/speakers, confuse smear with smoothness, believe you need to "add color" or make up for shortcomings using amplification you will not like Bryston.
Lastly, I copied Dr. Mertens system pairing with the EAR Yoshino 868 Tube Preamp and the 4B3. If I change DACS, cables, or my digital source material I hear the difference immediately. Good Luck.
