Thank you for your thorough response! Your comments are consistent with my memory from the early 80s. I'm looking forward to hearing them again to see how the reality compares to my recollection.

You can see my "sweet spot" couch, and also the desk and chair where I do most of my listening.

I am concerned about the sonic and visual impact to the room. The 745s are what I'd like, but there will be very little room to maneuver and optimize speaker placement.
