Easy just use an ohm meter to check for continuity to find the spot. You might have to wipe off a coating with acetone or something and a q tip to get to the ribbon. just keep dividing the area in half until you find it. Once found carefully clean the area. Read online here, there are circuit board repair pens made largely of silver. They are made in different qualities of conductance get the best from allied electronics, about $30.00. Not cheap but works miracles. The pen draws a very fine line so cut off the top so a little more can come out. Put a drop on the ribbon at the break. It will dry like white out and flatten. I repaired breaks very successfully in 1.6 quasi ribbens before. Should work the same.
