I wanted to point out ONE minor glitch with what the OP wrote.
the 3.6 is not 'pure' resistive.
A reasonable amount of reactance rears its ugly head.
See link from Stereophile Measured data......
the rising inductance is NO PROGLEM and overall, the panel DOES represent a decent, easy 4 ohm load.
Please see link for measured data.
But one point that is at variance? Magnepan calls out 86db sensitivity at 2.83 volts. That is actually 2 watts at 4 ohms.. so the REAL sensitivity is closer to 83db
2v @4ohms = 1 watt
2.83v @8ohms = 1 watt.
Except for the stellar low sensitivty, a fairly easy load for any competent 4ohm capable amplifier.
Too much is never enough
