Magnepan made the XO-1 for the MG-II and the MG-III/MGIIIa but pretty much went away from it with the MG-3.3. It was a hybrid which used a 1st order high pass line level filter (a series capacitor) for the treble and used the native low pass speaker level filter for the bass. There was a 50 kOhm pot to adjust the gain of the bass amp to the treble amp. In essence it was pretty much the same as speaker level biamping with the slight advantage of using a small cap before the treble amp instead of a large one after the amp. I used one with the IIb but was underwhelmed when I tried it with the IIIa. That's when I went to active biamping.
