it's a question probably best answered by him, but his website is either down or maybe he retired which is unfortunate. I've bought stuff from him before and I even live close to him in NJ. He had a nice RIAA calculator on his website as well as many other things.
At this point all I can think of is you might have some kind of overload condition going on, or a weird grounding interaction with the rest of your system. Some kind of RFI usually effects the whole system. It's hard to diagnose at this point and I hope you can somehow end up contacting him as he would know best how to figure it out.
