There's currently a couple of pairs on the Canadian audiomart both going for over $1,000.
I just sold mine yesterday to a guy who drove down from L.A. to San Diego to grab them. I listed them for $750 but I let them go for $650, the cost for a new pair.
They don't last long on line, I knew when I bought them I'd eventually get what I paid for them due to the popularity and long waiting period. COVID only made the wait this much longer I'm sure.
Magnepan is calling the LRS a 'ribbon' speaker vs the MMG's which are 'quasi-ribbons'. Obviously whenever the technology differs the outcomes will be different, in this case it's apparent the outcome is on the up curve as far as popularity.
The MMG is not a bad speaker in and of itself, problem is if you choose such you'll FOREVER be pondering the "what if I hadda.." question.
