RE: DWM owners; happy?

A follow-up thought, because many people refer to the use of DWMs as giving you "more bass".

The purpose of using them is not as an equalizer or tone control to boost bass frequencies. The purpose is to acoustically fill in the bass that's missing due to room resonance nulls. It may not be stated that way in the marketing literature, but that's the physics.

Take a look at the attached measurements. My 3.7s alone have a 22db difference from 40 to 60Hz, and a 20db null at 180Hz. By adding the DWMs and positioning them optimally I was able to greatly reduce these resonances. Most significantly I reduced nulls which could not be corrected with equalization.

The result is more ACCURATE bass, not more. And, this response can be nearly flattened with PEQ or DRC.
