I have 1.7s and a pair of DWM. After going to 2,500 wats per channel and bracing the 1.7s to the wall I have plenty of bass without the DWM. When I was experimenting with placement I sometimes liked the additional bass and sometimes though it muddled music in particular classical small forces.
