You can't inspect the mylar since it is under a sock so the next best would be some signal sweep or something you could play at loud enough volumes to hear any rattles or sizzles, which delams can sound like.
Bring over a bass amp and a bass guitar, and play through them. That could work.
But not many sellers are interested in you torture testing their merchandise, I would guess.
