I did think of using fabric covered vertical blinds as diffusers. But have not done so myself. The idea was to be able to tune the degree of diffusion on a window to find a good balance. But those blind/diffusers do not have a particular set of spacings and depths to diffuse particular frequency ranges, so we don't know how well they would work. Waiting for someone to try and report the results.
