Interesting! I always assumed ceiling absorption wasn't necessary with tall line sources because the reflections create a larger virtual line source, but may be that isn't true in the mids and highs.

Otherwise, I've ended up with absorption at my first reflection points. My room seems to be too small for diffusion to be effective, but the absorption makes it sound like a much smaller room. If I get a larger sound room, which may happen soon, I'll have to experiment all over again!
