RE: Odd listening chair placement

I am planning to put curtains (wall to wall, ceiling to floor) across the glass slider and in place of the plastic vertical blinds). I could continue them with curtain panels behind the TV and chair. I'll post pictures tonight of where I am with the current furnishings and placement.

Are typical lined blackout curtains sufficient to provide acoustic dampening?
