You have to do choke tweak and a resistor

I have 3.6's too. that generation (with 1.6's) I think are too bright stock for many rooms (it's the wide-angle HF acoustic dispersion).

I added a 1.5 ohm resistor in series with the choke in the tweeter attenuation port. Substantially better and can listen for a long time.

Then, to get good imaging use a mono recording. Move speakers and butt until the mono image is stable, centered, small, and doesn't move with volume or frequency. When you go back to stereo, it will sound nice.
