Nice work on your speakers there. Too bad there gonna be covered and yes, I'm unashamedly hooked on wood.
I'm taking the easy way out on the x-o boxes tho'. I found some wooden cigar boxes on the 'bay and I'm re-tasking those.
When I put up my room treatments, I put absorbers at the sidewall reflection points, an absorber on the wall that my couch was against and diffusion on the wall behind the speakers. The effect was JAW DROPPING!
Throw something on them walls and be amazed.
