Thanks, but your post has the kind of implication that causes all sorts of erroneous info to spring to life, so what follows is simply a polite correction.

I am not sure why you are assuming the "structure" is stronger, but I can assure you it is no more or less solid than the original design. Second, stronger structure wouldn't mean anything anyway. A Magnepans inherent problems are not caused by unsolid structure and that also has nothing to do with bass output.

Finally, there is actually only very slightly more wood in total used than on an original. (yes, the bottoms are wider than normal but the inner tops are narrower than normal, plus the base is a bit smaller as well) In any event that would only effect mass, and mass as well has no bearing on the final sound.

Therefore this look is solely cosmetic, and trying to extrapolate a performance parameter from a look would be incorrect.
