As far as the SMG's go, I think Magnepan were the ones with the 'generosity' when handing out it's efficiency rating.

Looking at the specs on the Marantz; there's nothing stating it can handle 4ohm speakers. Perhaps someone here who's used vintage Marantz gear can testify whether or not they're stable enough to drive Maggies.
