A properly working MG-II should have similar treble character to the Celestion SL600. I know this because I used to own both the MG-II and the SL6 that used the same copper tweeter as the SL600. Both speakers were on the darker side of neutral. It's possible the MG-II's tweeter has gone bad, especially if exposed to ultraviolet light for a long time.
