I think if you put some in, you could always vacuum it out if you really had to.

IMHO getting rid of the vibration is the only way to realize such upgrades. I chose sand because it is abundant, natural and I dig the sound of it. It is easy to apply, and helps to add mass.

It is weird, I don't put mine on isolation devices, as the sand is really good at dampening the crossover components. I suppose I could start, but honestly, as good as those sand filled crosses are I don't plan to be using them for long...active is the way to go.
