Whoomp and middle-C

I like whoomp and middle-C - my burlap has been removed, and my Quads have 8' open space behind them. The sound is completely utterly detached from the speakers - they look like a piece of furniture that is in no way contributing to the sound filling the room.

I've never had a set with burlap to compare to - but I might get a pair of the German Quads since there's a new pair here in Canada in boxes - I need a pair to take on vacation with me (along with a new 33/303 from Net Audio that I should get soon). I'll be able to compare then - but when the Quads are in open space, the whoomp and middle-C seem to work pretty well!
