However, they also sell matching power supplies/transformers/softstarts... ~$500 Euros for a stereo UcD 400 which I think is about $650 currently.
IMHO, the UcD 400 (conservatively rated at 400w into 4 ohms- per unit) is more than adequate for smaller Maggies, and the UcD 180 will probably be enough for most people. If you build a strong enough powersupply, you could biamp each speaker with UcD 400 modules for less than using one UcD 700 per channel.
I built mine using surplus transformers from PS Audio, Sprague Powerlytic powersupply caps from an industrial surplus auction, some parts I had laying around, and a few bits and pieces from Parts Express....
